Tampa, FL, in the heart of Hillsborough County, is truly a treasure on Florida}s west central coastline. Busch Garden: At Busch Gardens, animals roam free and you are the outsider. You can see the park by monorail, cable car or train. Roller coasters, wild animals, entertaining shows, rides, food, shopping, sightseeing, bird shows, exotic flowers, train rides, Serengeti adventures, river rapids...the list goes merrily on. Wear comfy walking shoes and spend the day at this 300-acre park. You can even taste the Anheuser Busch brew that started it all. Busch Gardens is open year-round with varying schedules.

Adventure Islands: Located right across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Adventure Island}s 30 acres of water-drenched fun in the sun features the ultimate combination of high-speed thrills and tropical, tranquil surroundings for guests of all ages. Within a soothing Key West atmosphere await slides, corkscrews, water falls, a wave pool, children}s water playground and other family attractions.

Lowry Park Zoo: One the finest zoological parks in North America and one of the best mid-sized zoos in the country, this zoo features over 2,000 animals, including rare and endangered species, that are housed in surroundings similar to its natural habitat.

Downtown Ybor City: Tampa}s Ybor City, began its intriguing history when cigar makers settled here after a disastrous fire that drove the industry north from Key West. Today it is a National Historic Landmark District lined with old buildings and historic sites. Today}s Ybor is a lively and popular shopping, dining and entertainment district featuring everything from museums to flamenco dancing and of course, plenty of cigars. The area really comes alive when the sun sets with a bevy of nightlife options. Do not miss the annual Halloween Parade, known as the Mama Guava Stumble or Guava-ween!

Florida Aquarium: Discover over 10,000 aquatic plants and animals which represents over 600 different species while at this aquarium that is among the top aquariums in the world. Visitors will see animals such as sharks, otters, gators, birds, and exotic sea dragons plus enjoy daily dive shows and animal encounters while visiting this aquarium.

Old memorial Golf Club: This magnificent par-72 course is kept in great shape. Essentially an open, flat layout, this course makes up for it with diabolical greens that are quick and sloping. The Old Memorial Golf Club course is on the long side (6958 yards from the middle tees; 7236 yards from the back) and is ultimately pretty tough. There is some water in play, along with quite a few sand traps defining the fairways and defending the greens. There are no ladies} tees at this facility. This is a private golf course. Soft spikes only. Caddies are mandatory.

Henery B. Plant Museum: Walk the corridors of the Tampa Bay Hotel, now a museum and a National Historic Landmark, and experience a stroll through time when exquisite art, elegant furnishings and opulent grandeur conveyed the image of the Gilded Age. Built in 1891, the hotel, with its Moorish architecture and spiraling minarets, was created as a resort for the rich and affluent. Reservations needed for groups of 10 or more. Parking is free in front of the building and in a nearby parking garage.

Westshore Plaza: As the name suggests, this shopping Mecca sprawls over some major acreage in the WestShore section of Tampa, not far from downtown and close to the airport. Alluring Mediterranean architecture beckons here, but dedicated shoppers are far more tempted by the presence of Saks Fifth Avenue, the only full-line Saks in the region. Plus four other department stores, and 100 specialty shops, including Banana Republic and Gap. A food court feeds you, and there}s covered parking in case it rains.

Val}s Basket Warehouse: Warehouse is the key word when describing this store. This huge shop houses thousands of silk flowers and dried flowers, as well as multiple types and styles of wreath bases, pottery, silk arrangements, dried arrangements, an assortment of every type, size and color of basket, flower containers, and gift items. If you like making your own dried or silk arrangements, or if you}re looking or an unusual gift, head for Val}s to shop your way through a very large, reasonably priced selection of craft items.
